i lost interest in retail pokemon games after i nearly finished my dex (barring mythicals) in gen3 and found out there was no way to get ho-oh or lugia without a gamecube and coliseum.
i even made a living hoenn dex so i could easily get the johto starter after restarting emerald three times over. trading all those mons over and back three times over was a fucking chore.
over two decades later (just this summer in fact) i used a recently discovered ACE to give myself a mysticticket in firered and got them both and finally finished my dex. fuck you and your giveaway events nintendo
