There is so much shit and different combinations that work that could stay clueless even after playing for good while. You first learn what doesnt work, which is relatively simple. To learn what really really works you either play against or watch people who have trying to figure out shit for years and copy them.
And honestly if you want to play only against the AI, you wont need to powergame your pretender.
