Post will be deleted in a minute. Got vacation just quoting and talking about it. It was popular in the early 2010s because it was Pastel horse doing cute thing with a decent writer backing it up. But the whole shit plateau when:
>turn book horse into alicorn
>make a shitty spinoff that was barely popular in jap, which I suspect had Cygame took the idea and make it better
>added a Mary Sue as a main character that made watching the show unwatchable. Starlight can fucking die
Then comes Uma. Its cute girls doing cute things, but horse racing. Ignoring that its an obvious advertisement for their Gacha, it build enough fanbase that allow Cygames to postpone the game many years before finally releasing it. And then there is pandering and marketing. You have horse racing fags, okatu fags, waifu fags, and gacha fags all being target audience to Uma. This is a wide range of people to make money off of. Compare to pastel horse. Beside little girls, Pastel Horse is seen as an internet counter culture. Hasbro refuse to sell these people pastel horse merchaise that pander to them. Or a proper game. Or anything worth of value until like the last year of G4's season when they try. They also sue their fans if they try to make plushies of those horse in the first two years.
Its also easier to say you like Uma since its much more main stream and more acceptable compare to say that you're a brony. Saying youre a brony mean you're tainted with all the ugly shit label by them.
