Gets a bit iffy. Most artists in general use some form of reference material, so I suppose it depends heavily on whether the reference material in question is actual CP. Manga and anime also tend to be very visually stylized, so the character depicted may look radically different from any model used.
I'm not a lawyer or anything so I don't know if there's precedence either way.

That's fair. I mostly consider the US situation because I myself am American. I don't like what Texas is doing; we need to stay on top of AI and protect IRL children without imposing restrictions on artistic freedom, and I'm certain it will be abused if it's not struck down.

Situations like this are also muddy and I agree they need to be looked at carefully, but again I'm mostly focused on things like manga and other illustrations.
