They're bad, but it's easy to see how you'd end up thinking as they do if you were put in the same position. The treatment of adepts is horrible. INTI said in a recent stream that Copen is the average for how nonadepts see adepts (and they toned down Copen's racism in the translation, in the Jap script, Copen is racist to an uncomfortable degree). Zonda is a mirror held up to the nonadepts, a reflection of their brutality.

I think GV2 and iX1 are the only Gunvolts with an okay plot. They're straightforward, and don't have as many plot holes or characters behaving too stupidly (outside the usual exaggerated anime personalities). The rest are retarded. GV2 has the best characters, and it's better that Zonda is introduced early and has presence in the story, unlike Nova who only interacts with GV near the end of the game.
