I mean, it's the classic shonen formula with the loser boy who mets a cool/cute girl and somehow both get some powers and end up fighting yokais, demons and aliens while getting closer and some dumb humor.
I would say the anime is good, but the manga is much better, but at the end it's all about your own preferences. Give it a try.
