I think the retcon is whatever, but I feel really warm and fuzzy getting so many interactions with Vera this patch, especially when I always liked her and her interactions with Gary but never really expected to get so spoiled like this.

Besides that, SKK is male when specifically catered to the female characters and this is further emphasized by them using a male design in promotions when shown with different girls.
