MGSV is one of those games where if it were actually finished and not rushed to shit, it’d be GOAT. As it stands it’s the skeleton of a good game dragged down by how it’s actually designed. Hitman WoA and Ground Zeroes are examples of what the game should have been structurally.

DaS being difficult was always a meme. I stand by my opinion that the only reason Souls caught on was because it was different from all the military shooters that were popular at the time. As games, they’re incredibly flawed.

I like DA:O as a game, but the lore is boring and generic as fuck and just a bad Tolkien knockoff.

Funny, I think E33 is exceptional in every way aside from the fact that the Lumina system makes it far too easy to break the game. That, and the game relies too heavily on parrying. The fantastic story, characters, soundtrack and general vibe carry it.

Heavy Rain is really underrated. It handles choice and consequence better than any Telltale game, and if you like pulpy Euro thrillers and giallo, it scratches that itch perfectly. Cage may not have succeeded in making high art with it, but he did succeed in making a solid thriller.

The junction system and level scaling in VIII was good, and I’m tired of pretending otherwise.

E33 is going to be remembered as an all time classic. It’s a fantastic game, even if the balancing goes down the toilet once you break the damage cap (I one shotted the final boss with solo Verso and it felt anticlimactic).
