It's honestly baffling how many bad decisions the devs thought were a good idea in this game. What if we charged a hefty fee to unlock fast travel in every area, which only offers convenience and no actual material worth to the player short of not wasting their fucking time? What if every minor enemy had exactly twice as much health as they actually needed? What if the levels were huge and all looked the fucking same? What if exploring said areas was pointless anyway? What if one of the only tools the player could completely run out only if they were stonewalled by a boss? What if we made a metroidvania where going back to a previous area and using your new traversal tools to explore netted you exactly 4 dollars? What if we made a metroidvania were the only substantial increase in power the player gets until half way through the game is a basic movement option they should have had since the beginning anyway? What if every enemy did contact damage whether it made sense or not?
Fucking insane that anyone thinks this shit is good. Give me one good gameplay reason why a bell station should cost a single fucking cent. They are either dumb as dogshit or simply wasting my time on purpose, which honestly seems to have been the pillar of this game's design philosophy.
