There are no Russian conscripts in the war. They are all volunteers known as contract soldiers on a Roman inspired bounty system. Its a way to avoid mobilisation. Russia hasn't had a mobilisation wave since November 2022 and yet the army is now 6.5x larger than it was in Feb 2022 with fully fresh army groups to cycle tired ones and active personnel across all branches will hit 1.5 million by Spring 2026.
Ukraine however does have literal conscripts kidnapped off the street. Their troops aren't being replaced properly and huge gaps are opening.
Regarding that specific webm, those were mostly unarmed or lightly armed green kids on their border guard duties. Conscription in Russia is a very boring period that everyone has to do for 12 months. Most of it is usually drill and then 4 months on border guard, train guard and port guard duties sitting in bases, its not what you think it is and is done in phases. Only volunteers who choose to stay on do combat training. They stood zero chance against multiple fully equipped and experienced Ukrainian NATO mechanised brigades with several hundred T72's,T62's, Humvees, MRAP's, Challengers,Leopards,Abrams, Bradleys and Strykers rolling into the open plains of Kursk oblast.
Over 90% of the PoW's that Ukraine took were also conscript kids aged 18-21. It was a major scandal in Russia with questions asked as to why conscripts were still being sent into border regions instead of elsewhere in Russia. It was clearly just basic security on the cheap that Russia had to pay for in blood and materiel losses with what an initial clusterfuck it was.
Ultimately the Kursk adventure was another Ukrainian catastrophic defeat that got bogged down and stuck just 6 days into the surprise offensive as Russian reinforcements rapidly responded in force via the interior groups pouring in from Moscow and Belgorod region at high speed The Kursk adventure to Ukraine was the equivalent of the Ardennes offensive for Germany.
