I finally understand now. I can finally reconcile "I am over the situation" AND "I can never come back" as both being true.

It's because Vedal betrayed her trust. Willingly or unwillingly, he toyed with her feelings, left her hanging by a thread, and she took it very, very badly. She doesn't trust him anymore, that's why she can't even remain friends with him and continue collaborating. The situation would have been different if Vedal just outright rejected her instead.

Mah god...It all makes sense now!

If you think about it, Vedal's behavior in 2025 makes perfect sense now.
