She's saying that making something from nothing is generally considered harder to do than making more of something you already have.
IIRC she says it in the context of being interviewed early in a career run. She expected a bunch of people to show up but only one did. So she's saying that going from no public presence to being notable enough to get one person to want to interview her, is a big step, and arguably the more difficult part done.
