Just play on Normal and it's an entry level shmup. Just because the averagee gamer screams & shits if they don't first try everything doesn't make it impossible. You build up fundamentals, learn to recognize and deal with speed, density, bullet formations (criss cross, aimed patterns that you can stream, etc). It's pretty seamless past your first game and then it's a fairly smooth sail with waves you can choose to engage with (Harder entries, higher difficulties and Extra, challenge runs...).
