I agree. Especially since exploring FNV through the "standard" route is simply a good way to get into the world, immerse yourself, understand it better and see how it works.
If someone, for their first playthrough, started to run straight at Vegas - that's fine, but I think it ruins the experience a bit. Once you're on your yet-another-playthrough it makes sense. Though even if I did finish FNV like 10 times I still do it the standard route because I simply like it, and I may finish the quest slightly differently from the last time I did it.
