Every time I see someone getting filtered by the character driven narrative of Clair Obscur I chuckle.
They really thought 'defeating the Paintress' was gonna save the world and there would be a happy ending....
They really thought the game with the extremely dark premise and subversive world building centered around the concept of painting was gonna be entirely self contained.
It was pretty obvious to me from the start they were inside a 'world of art'.
The moral dilemma and gripping tragedy at the heart of the experience being so masterfully interwoven into the character interactions makes Clair Obscur a 10/10 all on it's own.
Disregard the gameplay systems, cutscenes, characters, music, level design, boss fights and almost everything else being basically perfect and without fat or visible flaws.
The central question and theme of the story and how that question is built up is more than enough to get the 10 out of 10 rating.
