>Capeshit
Takes its genre tropes for granted and makes no attempt to write a cohesive story.
The main character is suddenly bestowed with powers and without any contemplation, immediately decides to don a colourful spandex outfit and fight crime.
The main villain, despite having no problems in his life, decides to become a villain and then declares the main character his arch rival after only one minor interaction.

Cape as a genre includes things like costumes, rogues galleries, a sense of justice, but unless you justify the presence of those tropes in your story, if you just simply include them without a reason, your story will be shit.
All the best cape stories go to great lengths to give their protagonists a reason to fight crime, a reason to hide their identity, and even a reason for why it looks the way it does.

Pic related, not capekino
