I had no reference for deltarune. Didn't play undertale and it came out during the era of my life where I stopped playing games for a bit (2014-2016 Fuck, games were so shit in that era. I didn't quit out of spite but looking back no wonder I did quit). I never participated in tumblr culture or webcomic culture. All I knew was hearing megalovania and I think hopes and dreams or whatever the fuck that song is called because I listened to silvagunner occasionally.

Anyways a streamer I watched played deltarune on/near launch and I was baffled. I just didn't get it at all. I didn't find the poorly drawn characters attractive in any way. The writing did nothing for me positively or negatively. It was such a nothingburger and I couldn't understand the reaction it was receiving. I still don't get it. I still don't give a shit about any of the characters, world, or lore in any capacity. I guess spamton is cool, but lolsorandumb joker characters aren't real characters, it's literally just a gag. I guess that was a well executed gag character so I'll give Toby his roses there.

THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS BEING INTO READING. NO ONE ON EARTH SAVE FOR SOMEONE WITH MENTAL ILLNESS IS INTO READING. EVERYONE WHO READS HAS DISTINCT PREFERENCES FOR THE CONTENT THEY CONSUME. IT'S A FALSE PREMISE.

I'm done with undertale faggots. The bar has crashed through the floor into hell. It goes without saying that a game should be judged on THE FUCKING CONTENT OF THE WORDS just noting the presence of words is actually insane. That's a complete non factor and the fact it is being treated as a factor implies a lot about the fanbase.

I'm a huge FF fan and I think you can kind of start wherever you want, the thing is I liked Remake less as a fan of FF7 so you might actually like it more coming at it as someone that has no idea what's going on.

I think the creators of each Final Fantasy game go into development expecting it to be someone's first Final Fantasy game so I think that's worth respecting even though I personally wouldn't start with Remake.

That being said

I would strongly advise against starting with rebirth, it's a direct sequel to a spiritual remake/sequel, cmon man.
I WILL BEAT MY CURRENT GAME BEFORE STARTING MY NEXT ONE
