i wish DAWs had a 2nd view or a 3rd one in Ableton's case that's just an empty place to design and bounce sounds in. I find it really annoying that you have to do that stuff on the same timeline where the actual music is going to be. right now what's holding me back is that it's like the DAW wants me to immediately commit everything to song, when the thing one really should be doing is to record sounds, bounce them to audio and then hand place them around or sequence them to create the arrangement.
