I do like these quotes from him
>With the exception of Zonda, each one of these characters have some way of being seen as sympathetic. They have some goal that's understandable, a little bit of humanity, and a tragedy behind each of them, even Teseo. Their ideals and desires are at least defensible, but they all have overlooked something about their approach that dampens their justification. These are people that Gunvolt can come to understand, but their bullishness about their views, like his own, ultimately lead to conflict. Gunvolt's idealism and recklessness, like his enemies, has put him in a bad place. His stubborness leads to the misunderstanding with Copen that starts their duel.
>Gunvolt may appear more noble, but he still rushed into all of this knowing that he'd be playing into Zonda's hands and delivering the fragments to her because of his need to be the thunder messiah.
>The cold hard truth about Copen and Gunvolt is that they're both fighting over Mytyl when they have no right to her because of their emotional attachments to her.
>Notice how Copen's super move is called Guilt Sequence, whereas Gunvolt is pulling out moves from the man who killed his dad and slapped his shit, thus bringing up his trauma. Thus Copen counters by pulling out the dead who Gunvolt feels responsible for as a reminder.
>It is a battle of regrets and ambitions, quelled by the love of a being who unlike Zonda, uses that love to help others instead of controlling them, to heal the world instead of destroying it. Both of them are eventually convinced to walk away and both are looking to improve themselves as people. The duel is a masterful bit of character story telling, and probably the best boss in the series.
>Gunvolt 2 is Gunvolt 1's better in every way. In general, I liked 2's characters more. They are more than just tools of a corrupt organization and reveal the central quagmire of the series going forward. Gunvolt 2 is the game that truly defined Gunvolt.
