Is data engineer a real job? I'm a sql "developer" monkey in a dead end role making just $47000 (yes I am fucking pathetic and should kms) and I want to escape this hell.

I don't feel like my sql and database experience would help at all getting a regular fullstack web dev or whatever role, so I've been looking into "data engineering"

How do I explain this to normals without seeming weird? I think it's weird that people are still having casual sex when the consequences can be so disasterous

I give up trying to make friends. It won't ever happen for me. It's not a me problem. I've put myself out there more than any person should be expected to. I've done what few others would. And still I have zero connection to any other human being on earth.
