MGS4 is so insanely schizo it becomes stupid. The codec team being the Patriots is lame as hell, and Eva being Snake's mom is lamer. Way to make your universe TINY as hell.

I think a better solution would be to have the MGS3 support team jump ship to join Big Boss. Zero becomes his top commander replacing Miller. The Philosopher remnants still exist, and they are pissed at their stolen money so they're out for revenge and to recover it. A faction then forms the Patriots.

And MGSV would have been a WAY more interesting game to bring back Eva for.

I think Kojimbo is actually okay as a writer for a singular game, it's SEQUELS he seems to have trouble with. He will endlessly retcon stories, make plot twists for the sake of it, and treat past games like they don't matter. His lack of consistentcy is wild.

I think he also threw a hissy fit about making MGS2, so he vented in the storyline by making it post-modern and a commentary on "sequels" in general. That was successful, so when he was even pissier about MGS4, he threw an even bigger hissy fit and got rewarded AGAIN.

MGSOnline 2 really saved MGS4, especially in latin america and third world. Third worlders LOVED that game.
