>the choices was emotional bait for normalfags
I can attest to that - when I first saw the compilation of the precious milestones of a life that Nicole shared with Richard, it tug at my heartstrings. But this episode was quite similar to "The Job" (aka Richard can't provide for his family, because otherwise whole Universe implodes) in that it completely fell apart when I tried thinking about it after credits rolled: writers really made it so that every other choice that Nicole could have made - and didn't include becoming Richard's tard wrangler - would have been for the worse. Nicole discovers this by going through each and every option she could have had in the past, with every answer stacking in Richard's favour - which is something that almost no one in real life can possibly pull off, as almost every living human has a laundry list of "stuff that would have made my life exponentially better if I did Y and Z instead of X". It's just retarded plot armour for a single cartoony NEET.
