Honestly the whole primary vs secondary thing is just there so people who play the games for hundreds of hours can jerk themselves off
Nobody else really gives a shit. As much as i like the games they're genuinely the least important part of the series.
I think the feeling mostly comes from the ~25 years of doujin content depending on when you got into it.
Its harder to feel "part of it" when theres so much already there.
