I think Rean and Van are both poorly handled just for different reasons. Whenever Rean is not the direct focus of the plot he is the absolute most boring PoV character in the entire series but he also gets the most fleshed out character arc of any protagonist. Van is one of the most fun PoV's to follow and he always has an amusing wisecrack or perspective on something but Falcom just refuse to do anything meaningful with him after Kuro 1 to the point that he barely even feels like a protagonist. Falcom just dropped the ball with both of them imo.

I, for one, want them to cut old class 7 in half.
They had too many people and we were not able to completely explore every single one of them in time.
