I'm going to live for 9months-1year or so in Fukuoka to attend a language school starting this October (30 yr old white american). it's really just a means of taking a break from my corporate job that I've had since college, getting to spend time grinding my hobbies of 3D/piano, and having a general life experience before I get bogged down with life responsibilities. it's probably irresponsible of me as I'm leaving some family and friends (and friends getting married, having babies etc) but I want to spend some time away alone and in another country.

I really enjoyed my last trip to japan and want to spend time there. I'm aware of all the cons and negatives of it... I'm just banking on having a gaijin pass for my time there. I'm studying every day and aiming to get at least around an N4 level before I start the language school
