ask a kid what their favorite game in 2010 they'd say Call of Duty, Halo Reach, Assassin's Creed 2, Fallout New Vegas, Red Dead Redemption, God of War 3, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Bioshock, etc....
in 2015 they'd say Call of Duty, Minecraft, GTAV, Fallout 4, The Witcher 3. Smash bros 4, The Last of Us
in 2020 they'd say Call of Duty, Minecraft, GTAV, Fortnite, and Roblox
in 2025 they'd say Call of Duty, Minecraft, GTAV, Fortnite, and Roblox
zoomers and especially gen z only play f2p, live service, or survival games you can drop infinite time in doing the same repetitive tasks for the next decade
you still have the nerds who like to emulate old or even buy newer games but the vast majority of them play shit like call of duty, fortnite, minecraft, roblox, or GTAV
back in gen 7 (the golden age of AAA), normies would actually buy multiple games a year while niche titles could still survive in their shadow. while now AAA needs to survive in the shadows of the same handful of games kids have been playing for nearly a decade
This is why game prices are going up, when only a few people actually buy games, they need to raise the prices on those people since its just becoming more niche
