the worst part of all of this is that they are dealing with super advanced bioweapon manufacturers. They could be portrayed as the most competent people in their fields and still get rekted by the unforeseen horrors the engineers cooked up.
Instead, everything happens as it does due to incompetence, rather than because they are dealing with alien horrors, i.e. the entire point of the series
