>Wasn't it supposed something good nu-TNO did for a change?
Guangdong isn't a nu-TNO thing but rather an example of what a "good nu-TNO" tag might look like. It has a heavy narrative focus but blends it with both traditional gameplay and well-executed GUIs (let's not talk about the riots). It also uses the setting to create new stories rather than just being a Wikipedia copy-paste. Nu-TNO truly begins in 2023 when their clique completely took over. There's no earlier evidence because their influence on the mod was entirely through deletions and blocking new content: deleting Atlantropa, deleting Burgundy, deleting all finished Italy rework content, etc. Nu-TNO tags are like Mexico and Antarctica: Wiki scrape, incomplete, no alt history, almost no gameplay, exclusively minigames.
So Guangdong has very little to do with nu-TNO and that's why the devs want to delete it all. All the unfavorable comparisons to their own sad body of work must've upset them.
