There's no pay for convenience, it's not like black desert where if you don't buy these gay pets then RNG mash them into other pets for a chance to improve them and spent 100 dollars you can't loot. The gearing is streamlined purely into the single player and exploration experience, there is no grind, the main storyline in the chinese version is almost 100 hrs worth of content, it's not an mmo.
