It's completely free to play and zero pay to win btw, there is no rugpull. There's no pay for convenience, it's not like black desert where if you don't buy these gay pets then RNG mash them into other pets for a chance to improve them and spent 100 dollars you can't loot. It's not like lost ark where if you don't pay or get lucky then you are fucked on gear upgrading. The gearing is streamlined purely into the single player and exploration experience, there is no grind, the main storyline in the chinese version is almost 100 hrs worth of content, it's not an mmo. The combat seems good, people say it's like naraka but it's not because it doesn't have things like perma air juggles and aerial combat. It's closer to nioh if it had pvp. It's not amazingly incredible but it's serviceable enough to be fun and leaves room for skill. The gear is equalized in the small scale pvp, the 1v1, the 2v2, the 3v3, the 5v5, the 10v10 jailbreak thing where you break your friends out of jail. The 30v30 moba mode has gear, but the gear in this game isn't like a korean mmo, it's more like I guess how they do it in gacha games. I don't play gacha games but I played blue protocol and didn't like it much since I don't really care about anime but it's like that I guess, you just get gear from doing the content and playing the story.

It has a character creator feature where you can import an image of a person and it'll recreate it on your character, it's not bad.

The marketing and advertising for this game is complete dogshit like it's impossible to find videos of people covering it on youtube and only recently are people starting to find out about it like how did this complete gem of a game go under the radar for years. its basically open world exploration and minigames and challenges . dont know anything about multiplayer these guys are talking about, expect more like a wushu themed genshin-like without gacha . go around learning fighting styles and training and getting powerful

There's no story mode in the online mode and no mobs, no enemies. Just world bosses and all of the social activities. It's really not meant to be played like an MMO, it's just a social hub version of the single player world. Yea all of your progress carries over in the sense that you're playing the same character so you don't start at square one or anything when you switch modes.

if you plan on playing then don't use jade coins for gacha rolls at the start. the real grind is unlocking all of the internal arts which are passive skills and it takes quite a bit of time to get them all, you can buy some of them with jade coins.

if you paypig your way through the internal arts you will have finished about a week early compared to everyone else, so I guess technically it is p2w since you'll have more passives than others, but everyone will just catch up to the finish line in a couple of days. idk how generous the game is with the coins after you've done all of the content though, i think it might just be your average gacha cosmetic system where they shower you with shit in the first few weeks/months or w/e then become stingy.

you can play it purely like a single player game then drop it when you're done if you want. it's pretty long, lots of dialogue, cutscenes etc. wuchang/nioh/tsushima/sekiro/whatever style gameplay. the multiplayer is completely opt in, you can avoid it entirely. i'm not really sure about the criminal system though and if player invasions are forced on you if you start slaughtering npcs, since i believe the whole point of being able to kill npcs to begin with is to allow for invasions and the jailbreak system
