Um.... I just watched the video and it feels like everyone's trying to turn the Indian trucker into a murderer. Murder requires intent, and this clearly wasn't intentional. The accident could've been avoided. Sure, he made an illegal U-turn, but the car that got hit came barreling in without slowing down from far away. Isn't this more about reckless driving than the U-turn? If they had just eased off the gas, everyone would've been fine.

Yeah, "insufficient staff" is at the current low pay and awful work conditions. Raising wages and improving treatment sounds good in theory, but good luck finding enough willing native workers for these tough jobs even then.

The system relies on undocumented workers precisely because most Americans won't do these roles at any reasonable pay. (I think I've said this about 10 times already) Without them, costs skyrocket, and many businesses fold or automate, no magic fix, just harsh reality
