Been playing Blade in Marvel Rivals and for him it's oddly reversed. At less than 9 meters his buckshot counts as a single projectile and does accordingly low damage. After 9 meters the spread activates and each pellet does it's own damage which adds up to a lot. Then after like 15 meters the spread gets so big that all individual pellets will no longer hit the same target so the damage goes down again.
