I'm looking at trying GW2 out.
I played it for a very short period of time at its launch years ago, but didn't really stick with it.
I realize I just missed a sale on the expansions apparently by a few days.

Is it reasonable to "try" the game out vanilla or am I just missing too much with that?
I read theres a new expansion soon, so I'm kind of banking on another sale of old expansions around its release instead of buying them all now, unless its really gimping me in a major way.
