That forest for the trees stuff is what riles me up the most. I've seen enough of people calling Shonen, a heckin' action genre for boys, a political piece because the protagonist fought a king, prince, and space dictator, while ignoring the story is focusing on the protag gang that's either getting stronger or faffing about with food and bugs or some shit. It is possible to be non-partisan in you're face-punch story for boys.
