IV has mid-air control and diagonal whipping in 8 directions.
Rondo has mid-air control, backflip, can jump on stairs, removed the numeral ranks, added the super OP bible subweapon and item crashes
Bloodlines lets you change the facing direction in mid-air, something you couldn't do on CV1, has diagonal up whipping, lets you jump on stairs.
If you REALLY want to go the purist route, then you only play CV1 and nothing else. But nobody who likes video games does that.
