Peak YAOI KINO. Hear me out. Death Battle explains this pairing a bit by being about similar characters fighting and giving fun battle chemistry, but more can be said about the ship. It's an outerversal romance that transcends the multiverse. With their outerversal power, they may be two of the only characters in fiction that could really comfort each other because despite their power, they still have been hurt in love. They may have pure heroic hearts, but their hearts have still been scarred from their beloved dying or falling for someone else. There's also a cruel irony to this pairing, as Kyle got cheated on with someone named Simon. But it's okay because their indomitable human spirits pulled them through it, and perhaps that human spirit, that humanity in them beyond inhuman powers, can give them an indomitable bond. You might say it can't work because they're straight, but there's a reality where Simon kisses Leeron, and while Kyle hasn't kissed a man, though not meaning he's gay, he has shown respect, gently turning down his gay assistant who was heartbroken that he loved Jade. Consider it getting spicy too. From lantern constructs to unlimited energy from spiral power, the bed will not last more than a minute. We know Simon is the seme and Kyle is the uke because Simon won Death Battle, but the names add a humorous aspect to it because "seme" starts with an "s" for Simon and "uke" has a "k" for Kyle. Simon just gives off big drill energy too. Though it being Death Battle meant someone dies, I think maybe in an alternate reality, love did bloom on the battlefield. Thank you, Death Battle, for showing me Tier Love is the strongest tier there is. Love is truly BOUNDLESS. "In brightest day, in blackest night, no love shall escape my sight. Let those who ship with all might harness my power, Green Lantern's light because your love is the drill that will pierce the heavens!"
