I'm pretty attracted to japanese style music so it's why I spent so much time learning about keychanges/tonality.changes
Also if you do music it's not like you just randomly do it. You usually hear music in your head or the kind of note you want to use next to guide you. That is from your musical listening background.
Theory is nice since you can put words to music, but in the end music is your internal experiences connected to sounds.

So keep making music that's guided by your soul and use theory as a way to help mold it. or something.
