i hope someone will at least entertain my delusions. i'm no schizo, i'm a hopeless romantic with all but nothing left to lose, and i'm lost without you. my copilot's taken off without me. didn't even leave a note.

regardless, it's somehow nice to know he's ok. if he died, i'd have been devastated. even the fact that you, Vlad, are ok, is good news to me, regardless of the circumstances.

i don't have anyone else, so expect my presence if posting here. what else do i have to fill my time with? my mom switched service providers and now my internet sucks for cs. maybe you'll talk to me, even if you're already talking to my ex?-bf. i couldn't ever talk to you for risk of him becoming jealous, but if he is in your arms, only i could truly be the jealous one xd. please treat him well...

People ignore me all the time, I make all kinds od threads but they rarely get regarded as discord chat threads, thus I don't know how this phenomenon is really possible. I might as well be regulated to being that of a 'troll' for some reason, on reddit they told me I am obnoxious and annoying despite having many posts and not really giving my opinion that often so it was pretty weird. Also they try to make me out to be schizo all the time.,

That's the reaction I get the most I think I noticed it doesn't happen to other people as often, but for some reason for me, what I seem to get is the equivalent of agents from the Matrix, who basically just to reform me, or indoctrinate me for some reason. It's bizarre and totally strange.

Maybe. There is definitely nice to be in a nieche, but also there is pleasures in having your music spread around. Most artists prob appreciate being memed a bit then just being hidden gems.

the most complex my harmonies get are a parallel minor chord swap treatment lol, idk how else to build harmonies cause i've always just been winging it, as you do.

It's fine. Harmony doesn't have to be super complicated to sound good. Even really simple triads can become great music if you voice and orchestrate them well.
Most of my music is just RMT. Relative multipolar tonality. Usually a mix of major scale and relative harmonic minor scale.
Fmaj7 E7 is a pretty good progression that's kinda common in japanese music I think.
>i was just bitter nobody wanted to connect with me in those meaningful ways back then

very classical pilled, but i know how those japanese love their keychanges, which lends itself to a different style entirely. i like keychanges, but i only really use them when the section changes entirely. putting them in a harmony is a tier of fucked up i don't entirely get yet, nor how it could be applied. props on you for applying yourself towards that, Ritsu

>i like keychanges, but i only really use them when the section changes entirely
That's modulation. When keychanges happen within a single phrase it is called multipolar tonality(according to a japanese harmony book author).
In classical music they use the sharp 7th to create a leading tone since it creates a bigger pull towards the tonic in minor it's pretty useful. It's also why japanese music use them also.

>is a tier of fucked up i don't entirely get yet
It's a bit abstract, but it's not too bad. Basically certain groups of tones leads towards one tone. That's why we have Tonic, subdominant, dominant. Subdominant leads to dominant, dominant leads to tonic. Tonic is the most stable because usually the entire scale creates a pull towards the tonic. That's why the major scale is so successful and useful.
To make key changes you have to pull towards a different tone.
In coltrane changes you have 3 different keys. Coltrange uses the V - I because it creates a really strong pull. Then he uses ii - V - I (common jazz progression) through these 3 different keys. So you get pulled into these 3 different tonalities.

Pic related also is pretty useful.
"Structural function sof harmony" by arnold schoenberg. Basically certain set of notes(chords, melody), can either imply one tonality, or be ambigious depending on which notes.

I'm pretty attracted to japanese style music so it's why I spent so much time learning about keychanges/tonality.changes
Also if you do music it's not like you just randomly do it. You usually hear music in your head or the kind of note you want to use next to guide you. That is from your musical listening background.
Theory is nice since you can put words to music, but in the end music is your internal experiences connected to sounds.

it's nice that we have such a diverse selection of musical artists here at /bant/. it surprises me, i don't even need to go to /mu/ anymore lol. i bet it must've felt good discovering that multipolar tonality concept, like leveling up in a videogame

i honestly wonder why i want to make music sometimes. i say i'm passionate, when i haven't touched a daw in months, attempting to actively avoid any creative activity as much as possible, then it feels like withdrawals when i am forced to avoid it outside of my own fruition. playing an instrument is simple fun, you pick it up and play, but making music always becomes this monumental struggle against myself. it's always been a particular thing with me.

>So keep making music that's guided by your soul and use theory as a way to help mold it. or something.
then i better pray and hope my soul is still intact lol

Everyone has their reason for doing music.
I think you should learn that reason.
Of course no matter how passionate you are for music, music is really difficult. I have had moments myself where I feel like a massive humilating failure. Even though I'm much better than I used to be I still feel crappy and I still get imposter syndrome. Virtually all people who do arts of any kind get these every now and then.
No matter how passionate you are, you still need a system and disciplin.
The reason I work so hard on music is because growing up I was infatuated with Hatsune Miku. This is my way of giving back to her after all the years of her cheering me up and being there for me when everyone else abandoned me.
Music will never leave you like other people.

oddly enough, i feel the same way about my music too. i was lonely when i found this sound, and it helped make being alone all the time so much more bearable, especially when everyone else around you already has someone to rely on. i had tracks to look forwards to listening to, they were daily dumps of dopamine for me...

>Music will never leave you like other people.
at this point, yeah. besides my mom and my heavenly Father, music is all i have left. you knoooow, i could mold my pain and become one of those misunderstood tortured artists. i mean, i guess i don't have much of a choice, it's either this or loneliness lol.

And maybe some day your music can be there for people. Not that you have to, you can always make music for yourself too.
> i could mold my pain and become one of those misunderstood tortured artists
Maybe. It's up to you. Music is inherently emotional, you decide what emotions to put into it. To me a persons music is like peering into their soul, I can feel what kind of person they are with it.

this summer heat is frying my brain up a lot so I'm unsure if you mean the youtube links you posted earlier are yours.
But that music gives me confusing flow of emotional experiences.

That's a good thing usually, being able to recognise motifs is pretty important. This heat is making it really hard to work on music and practice the guitar... that''s my main issue with the heat. I'm just here sweating like crazy.
I want to be able to make great music and I won't if I just stay idle

Oh sure, it just felt really unspecific. Since I'm unsure if you meant my songs or just songs in general.

Lately been working on this tab. Since I like it a lot and want to work on my speed.

I can barely manage at 140 bpm and my technique is sloppy, my goal is to reach target tempo without sounding sloppy and without tension. Last time I was practicing this was 3 or so days ago.

oiyyyyyy she looks good. even though i already have sony mdr's, i wanna get mio's akg monitors eventually lol

i think my favourite instrument has got to be my yamaha reface dx synth. i can't recreate those patches in my daw, but they're super nice compared to the aging soundfonts i usually use. i don't own much hardware in actuality tho, i'm not rich. my mom bought it for me with a pandemic stimulus check...

Cute.

Yamaha makes so much stuff. They also have electric and acoustic guitars and motor bikes lol. And the guitars are good I have heard.
When you mentioned synth I thought it was gonna be one of those crazy synth setups where people just have a block filled with wires and connections.
It looks super fancy and nice to play on though.

Temps are cooling down so I think I'm gonna take a nappy. It was nice talking about music with you !

i found out lately that they helped lexus make the lfa, which is featured in lycoreco :3

the synth itself is nothing special, it's transpose thingy is broken, but it's the sound that matters most importantly to me ;)
i hope you got lots of progress in today, have a nice nappa, Ritsu~
