Revisiting the game recently, I think I realized the biggest problem I personally had with it; It takes so long to really get things going. M&B is a hero waiting room, unlike say Kenshi it's not really "fun" to horribly lose past the first time a bandit captures you, resets your progress, and has you vow revenge. Bannerlord just stretched out that early game preamble way too far, and by the time you're joining a kingdom the court politics aren't deep enough to feel like I've been rewarded for arriving into noblehood.
