I'm kinda on the fence about OOC because if you accept (1) real-life history and culture as being part of the lore and (2) the fact that Hetalia has a shaky relationship with real-life history, then the line between what is and is not OOC gets kinda blurry.
Poland is the best example, like, Hetalia Poland does not at all remind me of historical Poland, so, what do you follow here?

The artist that made this de-femboyed Poland redesign that I like, she's a Hungarian nationalist whose closest brush with Big Homosexual was answering a Tumblr ask where she referred to being gay as a "lifestyle." Doesn't even draw most of the other Hetaloids besides the Visegrad states. Otherwise, she's very much average straight girl Tumblr millennial. Highly uncommon type shit, but she is Hungarian after all.
Double the strange: she's also into Transformers, another huge fujo magnet fandom, and yet, no gaiety there
