Got an email from an Amazon recruiter and they're already asking for my target TC. What the fuck is the going rate for an L5? Why are they asking now? Are they just trying to filter me out now?

I'm a product design engineer and let me tell you guys, this field fucking sucks. Egos the size of monuments. The good jobs are gatekept like hell. FAGMAN refusing to hire. Disorganized teams. Everyone and their mother think they know what they're talking about just because they're able to see it. Short deadlines. Forced to act as the project manager and still expected to get the engineering parts done. I should not have gotten an ME degree or gone into this field.
