Incidentally, I found out the hard way:

Especially if you have a 60% chance to activate a Tide at the end of each of your actions.
While stacking damage taken is nice on the boss, that thing is a total endurance slog, and ... well you kind of die when you're taking ~5x incoming damage from all sources.
Incidentally, if BOTH you and all enemies die to Scarlet Tide, your Nav will say her victory line but the game will treat it as a loss.
