I think the people who say this one's the best are really just operating off of nostalgia.
Because if you think about it, the main gameplay conceit here is constantly mashing your fucking thumb on the dpad. Like what else is there, the karts aren't as satisfying to control as the bikes in Wii and the items are completely unexciting compared to Double Dash. The courses are good I guess but then again they have a lot of shitty SNES/GBA courses with few improvements.

50cc to unlock Dry Bones and Daisy is absolutely mindnumbing
150cc is very fun and probably the highest-pure-skill MK but 50cc is watching paint dry tier
