You're totally right, a lot of Inti storytelling is exactly like watching a movie with a little child that just wants to skip to the cool parts. All I'm saying is if they felt they had to do a septimal - non septimal pairing, they should've done so with Copen in some fashion. It would've had more going for it for the aforementioned reasons, at least in my opinion, and it would've also laid the foundation for Copen overcoming his internal and external barriers and to move in a direction that wasn't just complete and utter self destruction. Gunvolt needed no convincing that there are good non-septimals out there, but Copen needs his system of beliefs challenged, he needs to be put in a position that forces him to reflect on his world views, and he needs to decide what is more important. As it is there's really only one path for him to take if he can't overcome his own prejudice, and that's going out in a blaze of glory. Which is also a cool and fitting end for him, don't get me wrong. At least it's better than a meaningless death to a space meatball.
