I just wrote and deleted a near-character cap post after starting the post with a claim I won't do that, only to do it again so I'm just hitting post, thank you for asking though because putting it into text helped me solidify the idea even if it's nonsense to anyone but me
basically the gist is the metaplot's been about the party inadvertently redeeming a disillusioned insomniac prodigy hero with DID and they're on their way to confront them with the heart of the party resolute that she'll get him to calm down through words of friendship(it's been very successful so far)
so what I just thought up was that if she's successful in that, he'll(most likely, depends on what she says to him ultimately after everything's done) come to the conclusion that his past mental dissonance over not knowing what is the "right" thing to do with his overwhelming power that lead to everything is all based on the assumption that the options he found which are all ambiguous in the end(like whether it's right to let tyrants exist when he has the power to stop them) are the ONLY options and that he simply lacked the blind hope of someone like the heart of the party to find the solution that isn't in front of him or anyone else, vowing to find a way to make everyone happy no matter what with his power(instead of doing what I expected to happen earlier in the campaign, which is walking down the road of villainy after the party shows him how blind hope is dashed by reality)
