Anyone else think this is just a temporary stunt by Trump to ‘make a deal’ in his usual method of making high demands and then working down to something more ‘reasonable’? I personally don’t know much on tariff laws and policies but this seems like he’s playing chicken with the nations us burgers import heavily from and banking on them eventually relenting to come to a tariff agreement way less economically punitive. Whether it ends that way is still up in the air at this stage…

My fellow Americans, what are your plans for when de minimis ends for all countries on the 29th and people allegedly start getting hit for $80-200 fees per package? I know Chinese shops, Aliexpress in particular, have managed to just up prices a bit and ship in bulk to absorb the tariffs, but I don't know if Japan and other countries will be as successful. And now more and more postal services are halting shipments to the US. Of course, there's a high chance Trump either backs down or the postal system is overwhelmed almost immediately like the first time they tried this.
