Honestly the Wanzer's (that's the name of the mech) controls pretty well, and yes if you dash the thing does a little animation where it recoils a little bit, but that's part of the experience, if you played Assault Suilt Valken then it's basically the same, and you can customize your wanzer's arsenal and upgrade it's appereance and gadgets.
