iirc you can create infinite copies of a toon so what's most likely happening is that Dandy's creating new toons who are completely ignorant of the current state of gardenview and forcing them down the elevator for his own goals uncaring they'll die down there so long as he gets his research and ichor
as to why Dandy's doing this? who knows but him being able to manually transform in and out of a twisted is probably linked to it
maybe what's going on is that you can't actually create infinite copies of a toon and when a toon "dies" they really become twisted and Dandy goes down in his twisted form to retrieve them and revive them back at home base so they can go under again, but that begs the question why doesn't Dandy just do all the dirty work? Why doesn't he collect enough ichor to revive the entire cast himself? I also have no idea how Dyle plays into all this
