Gran Turismo 7 Career Mode requires internet connection. It would be fair that in future you could play it even without the developer servers.
EVEN if you cannot implement it on GT7, you could for future Gran Turismo games and other games that require internet connectivity for singleplayer stuff for some reason. Otherwise you have arbitrary block on the content that is on your game disc that you cannot legally access.

Someone might want to play the copy of a game they own. Not right now, not at the same time as others, or such. But if you want to play a game you bought 20 years ago for example, you should be legally allowed to do it. Be it nostalgia or something else. Imagine if you couldn't play Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Singleplayer without internet connection to some 3DO or NWC servers.
It isn't as big of a developer cost to ship FUTURE games with that addition. To know that in future we have games that cannot be taken away from us.

Its a harsh reality of working under Actiblizz. CTR for like 5-6 months goes without MTX and you can unlock everything by playing normally in anyway. You aren't even obligated to unlock EVERYTHING anyways you could be some autist for one character and ignore everything else. Then boom suddenly its MTX for the ingame currency. Its obvious to anyone that they were pressured into it and had to also cut off support early. Lab Assistant had the potential for endless skins as well as other characters.
