Guitar solos are the best skill-filter, and the best normalfag-filter. They are a key staple of metal, basically the common link between the founding diapershit bands and the niche extreme bands. The time 'metal' bands stopped playing solos literally represents the most decadent period of this genre.
If even the most pedestrian grooveshit like Pantera has decent solos, why can't your band? Because it doesn't 'fit'? Because they 'can't'? Then they aren't metal. End of story.
